Heat Vs Celtics Game 1 Homecourt

Jayson Tatum Returns to Haunt Heat in Celtics' Game 1 Victory

Eastern Finals Rematch Gets Off to Explosive Start

Boston Overcomes Last Year's Agony

In a highly anticipated rematch of last year's Eastern Conference Finals, the Boston Celtics got off to a winning start in their 2024 postseason, defeating the Miami Heat 117-109 in Game 1.

Jayson Tatum, who had a disappointing performance in last year's series, led the charge for the Celtics. The All-Star forward finished with a game-high 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists.

"We had a lot of unfinished business coming into this game," Tatum said after the win. "We knew the Heat were going to be tough, but we were determined to get our revenge."

The Celtics also received strong contributions from Jaylen Brown (25 points) and Marcus Smart (20 points), who helped them overcome a slow start.

The Heat, who were looking to avenge their loss to the Celtics in last year's playoffs, fought hard throughout the game. Jimmy Butler led the way for Miami with 28 points, but it wasn't enough to match the Celtics' firepower.

The teams will meet again in Miami for Game 2 on Friday night. The Celtics will be looking to take a commanding 2-0 lead, while the Heat will be desperate to tie the series at 1-1.
