Early Career and Challenges

Dan Hurley, the eldest of Bob Hurley Sr.'s two sons, began his coaching career as an assistant at Rutgers. After four seasons, he took over at St. Benedict's Preparatory School in New Jersey. Hurley admits to initially struggling as a high school coach.

Success at UConn

Hurley arrived at UConn in 2018 and quickly turned the program around. In 2023 and 2024, he led the Huskies to back-to-back national championships, making them the first team to achieve this feat in 40 years.
