Marvel 101: Victor Von Doom's Rivalry with the Fantastic Four
Victor Von Doom: A Villain Born of Tragedy
Victor Von Doom was born into a gypsy camp in Latveria, a small country in Eastern Europe. His mother was a witch who was burned at the stake when Victor was a child. This event, coupled with the poverty and persecution he faced as a child, fueled his hatred for the world.
The Creation of Doctor Doom
Victor Von Doom traveled to the United States to study at Empire State University, where he met Reed Richards, the future leader of the Fantastic Four. Doom's brilliance in science and engineering was unmatched, but his arrogance and ambition led to his expulsion from the university. Enraged and bitter, Doom returned to his homeland and created a suit of armor that would allow him to control the powers of magic and science.
Doom's Quest for Revenge
Victor Von Doom became Doctor Doom and set out to conquer the world. His first incursions into the United States involved the Fantastic Four in grand schemes of time travel. Doom's primary target was Reed Richards, who he blamed for his expulsion and subsequent misfortunes. However, the Fantastic Four, with their indomitable spirit and unwavering determination, managed to thwart Doom's plans at every turn.
