Beribi Fire & Rescue Station Successfully Rescues Six Individuals from Fire

Five Foreign Nationals and One Permanent Resident Apprehended for Suspected Drug Activities

August 1, 2023: Fire Incident and Rescue Operation

On Tuesday morning, August 1, 2023, the Beribi Fire Rescue Station responded to a fire incident involving a bungalow and a double-story house. The swift actions of the firefighters resulted in the successful rescue of six individuals.

According to preliminary investigations, the fire originated from the bungalow. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The rescued individuals, all adults, sustained minor injuries and were treated on the scene. No fatalities were reported.

August 16, 2024: Drug Bust

In a separate incident on August 16, 2024, the Anti-Narcotics Bureau (ANB) conducted a raid and apprehended five foreign nationals and one permanent resident in connection with suspected drug activities.

The suspects, aged 21 to 62, were found in possession of various types of drugs, including heroin, methamphetamine, and cannabis.

The investigation is ongoing, and the suspects are expected to be charged with drug-related offenses.
