Moscow Murders: Bryan Kohberger transferred to Ada County Jail in Boise, Idaho

Bryan Kohberger, the suspect in the murders of four University of Idaho students, has been transferred to the Ada County Jail in Boise, Idaho.

Kohberger was arrested in Pennsylvania on December 30, 2022, and charged with four counts of first-degree murder. He was extradited to Idaho on January 4, 2023, and made his initial court appearance in Latah County on January 5, 2023.

Kohberger is accused of killing Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin in their off-campus home in Moscow, Idaho, on November 13, 2022.

The murders shocked the small town of Moscow and the University of Idaho community. Kohberger is a former PhD student in the university's criminal justice program.

Kohberger's transfer to the Ada County Jail is due to security concerns.

The Latah County Jail is a small facility that is not equipped to handle a high-profile case like this one. The Ada County Jail is a larger and more secure facility that is better equipped to handle the media attention and security risks associated with this case.

Kohberger is scheduled to appear in court again on January 12, 2023, for a preliminary hearing.

At the preliminary hearing, the judge will determine if there is enough evidence to hold Kohberger for trial. If there is enough evidence, Kohberger will be bound over for trial. The trial is scheduled to begin in June 2023.
